In Black Triangle, Koudelka fills the newspaper pages with images of the barren landscape of his homeland. This homeland is the Czech Republic and it's presented to the viewer in a raw, devastating way. Koudelka's photos were taken in Podkrusnohori the first time he went back to his native land after the publication of his photographes of the Russian invasion of, then, Czecholovakia in 1968. The images in Black Triangle show the devastation and the damage in the area. Koudelka's images offer a powerful documentation of the irreversible social and environmental damage of the region.
